Dec 1 Measuring, Dishwashing, Lab 1 Prep & if time Safety Poster Work

Attendance - as emailed. 

Lab Groups - be sure to be seated in your correct seats as updated by Ms. H. E.g Tanner - be sure to be in Zakk's group. Kayser reminder- you are in the back left lab group (from teacher's desk). 

Reminder for class! Lesson - How to measure solid fats. Important as we prep for our first cooking lab.

Then review - RSS Foods Room - Dishwashing Protocol! As noted below. 

Steps:

1. Put plugs in x 2 to each side of the sink.
2. Fill one side with hot water and a few squirts of dish soap. Fill only half way max.
3. Fill the other side with hot water. Ask for assistance re: having a cap full of bleach added for sanitization dip. 
4. Wash dishes using scrubber in soapy sink. 
5. Rinse dishes under water over soapy side.
6. Then dip in sanitization side. 
7. Place in drying rack to dry.
8. Team members will assist with drying of dishes and placing items back in their correct spots re: each station. 


We will be following the above protocol on Friday when we cook! 

Foods Lab Positions - TTOC to review the below with class!

Group Roles - Head Chef, Prep Cooks x 2, Recipe Manager/Dishwasher

Head Chef - Coordinates, Cooks, E.g. mixes all prepped ingredients & uses the stove, cleans all surfaces post cook, assists with putting dry dishes away.

Prep Cooks - Organizes and places materials out prepped and ready for the Head Chef, and assists with drying dishes at the end of the lab and putting away the dishes. 

Recipe Manager/Dishwasher - reviews paperwork day of lab with group (recipe review) and ensures the recipe is followed by all group members. Washes dishes. 

Teacher Task - *Provide each lab group time (2-3 min) to self selection their group roles (as listed above) within their lab groups. They will be in these roles Friday AM when we cook!
